Pain and Swelling in or around the hip is the most uncomfortable situation that compels the person to go to the physician. It always does not involve hip only but may instead be felt in the groin or thigh. In fact this should also not be ignored as it can be a sign of the underlying disorder that needs medical intervention.
A combination of hip pain and swelling may occur due to various reasons like trauma, hip fractures, and chronic conditions like inflamed tendons, bursitis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout or other joint disorders.
In most of the cases, hip pain and swelling makes it impossible for the person to put weight on the joint or move it completely. It may also be associated with some deformity in the hip.
